why we swear by led light therapy

what is led red light therapy?

led or "red” light therapy emits the same light the sun emits during sunrise and sunset. this healing light is powerful and recharges our skin cells similarly to how plants go through photosynthesis. in day-to-day life, our skin cells are getting harmed by environmental pollutants, lifestyle habits and internal free-radical damage. by using red light therapy as a resource to bring healing and rejuvenation to the skin, we can help to slow down signs of aging by fighting the accumulation of skin cell damage.

what are the benefits?

red light therapy balances your circadian rhythm, helps to regulate your nervous system, improves skin texture, tone and signs of aging.

are all red light therapy devices created equal?

in short, no. red light requires a certain wavelength to properly penetrate the skin and stimulate cell renewal. you want to look for lights that offer a minimum of 630 nanometers for led light, and a minimum of 700 nanometers for NIR (near-infrared light).

when is the best time to use your red light?

due to red light therapy’s calming effect on the nervous system, it can be used at different times of day for different purposes. in the morning, red light therapy assists in waking up the body by stimulating blood flow and the calming red light alerts to the body its time to start the day. in the evening, it can be used to wind down, to get the brain in an alpha state prepared for rest. you really can’t go wrong with whichever time of day you choose to use your red light, at the end of the day, the benefits outweigh timing.

which red light therapy mask do you reccomend?

our favorite masks are from omnilux! They have a variety of red light masks for specific parts of the body, including neck and décolleté, hands, spot-treatment, under-eyes, and of course face masks.
